Plenty of workshops refuse. We do not load the rate because you bought the part elsewhere, though we can only warrant our labour on a part we did not supply.
About repairsWhat the MOT price covers
£29 covers a class 1 or class 2 solo motorcycle. Class 1 is up to 200cc and class 2 is over 200cc; the price is the same either way. Your first MOT is due by the third anniversary of the bike's registration, then every year after.
Sidecar outfits are a separate DVSA class with a higher maximum fee, so ring the workshop on 01255 427851 for a price on those.
The MOT is a roadworthiness test, not a service. If your bike fails, any repair work is quoted separately at £60 per hour plus parts, and because we are a full workshop rather than a test-only centre we can usually do it on site rather than sending you elsewhere.
Why we charge by the hour
A fixed price list would mean charging every rider the same for a job that takes twenty minutes on one bike and half a day on another. Charging for the time actually taken is fairer, and it means we are not tempted to rush.
Where a job cannot be quoted precisely until something is stripped down, we give you a realistic range and ring you the moment we know more. If we open something up and the sensible answer changes, you hear about it before we carry on.
Collection, delivery and recovery
Collection and delivery across Clacton and the Tendring area is arranged when you book. Out-of-hours recovery is on07300 011336. Both are priced on distance and time of day, so ring and we will tell you what it will be before we set off.
Paying
We take cash, and credit and debit cards.
