Motorcycle MOT and Repairs in Jaywick

Jaywick is our closest neighbourhood, about two miles from the workshop at Sadds Yard. For most Jaywick riders that means you can drop a bike in first thing and have it back the same day, and it means collection is genuinely quick rather than something we have to schedule around.

Salt air is hard on bikes

Living this close to the sea takes a toll that inland riders never deal with. Salt-laden air gets into everything. We see far more corroded brake caliper pistons, seized linkage bearings, furred connectors and rusted fasteners on bikes kept along the Jaywick and Clacton seafront than on machines a few miles inland, particularly where a bike lives under a cover rather than in a garage.

A cover traps moisture against the metal. If your bike sleeps outside, it is better off with airflow than wrapped up tight.

The practical answer is a wash-off after wet rides, a spray of protectant on exposed metal before winter, and getting the brakes looked at before they seize rather than after.

Commuters, scooters and small bikes

A lot of what comes to us from Jaywick is everyday transport rather than weekend machinery: scooters, 125s and commuters that need to work every morning. We MOT and service all of them, and we do not treat a moped as less interesting than a litre bike. If it is what gets you to work, it matters.

If it will not start

Flat batteries and non-starters are the most common Jaywick call we get. If the bike is sitting at home and will not fire, ring 01255 427851 and we will collect it. You do not need to push it anywhere.
